Embark on an unforgettable 3-day journey from Marrakech through the spectacular High Atlas Mountains, ancient kasbahs, lush valleys, and the breathtaking Sahara Desert. Experience camel trekking across the golden dunes of Merzouga, sleep under the stars in a desert camp, and discover Morocco’s rich culture and natural beauty.
Your adventure begins with an early departure from Marrakech, crossing the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260m). Stop to visit the famous Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Continue to Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Africa,” and pass through the Skoura Oasis and the Valley of Roses. Arrive at Dades Gorges, where you’ll spend the night in a charming riad or hotel.
After breakfast, explore the stunning Dades Valley before driving to the spectacular Todra Gorge, with its towering cliffs. Continue towards Erfoud and Rissani, gateways to the Sahara Desert. Arrive at Merzouga (Erg Chebbi dunes), where a camel trek will take you across the golden sands at sunset. Spend the night in a desert camp, enjoying traditional Berber music and a magical starry sky.
Wake up early to witness the breathtaking sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, return by camel or 4x4 to Merzouga village. Drive back through the Draa Valley and cross the High Atlas Mountains once again. Arrival in Marrakech by evening.
